Position Description

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of transformation programmes for established clients, ensuring projects achieve their strategic objectives, deliver measurable business value, and meet agreed timescales and budgets. You'll provide governance across complex programmes, balancing competing priorities while working closely with senior client stakeholders, delivery teams, and partners to ensure successful outcomes.
You'll take ownership of programme performance throughout the full lifecycle, proactively managing risks, budgets, commercial considerations, and stakeholder expectations. Working within a collaborative environment, you'll help shape delivery strategies, respond confidently to changing priorities, and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead & Deliver complex transformation programmes from initiation through to successful completion.
• Own & Govern programme delivery, ensuring objectives, budgets, timelines, and business outcomes are achieved.
• Plan & Prioritise competing initiatives across a diverse programme portfolio.
• Manage & Mitigate programme risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Collaborate & Influence senior client stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Monitor & Report programme performance, financials, governance, and delivery progress.
• Drive Commercial Success by managing budgets and supporting commercial decision-making.
• Negotiate & Build Relationships with clients, suppliers, and delivery partners to achieve successful outcomes.
• Champion Continuous Improvement by embedding effective governance, risk management, and delivery best practice.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
To succeed in this role, you'll be an experienced Programme Manager with a strong track record of delivering complex transformation programmes within challenging commercial environments. You'll be confident engaging with senior stakeholders, managing programme governance, and balancing strategic priorities while maintaining a focus on business outcomes. Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Essential qualifications and experience:
• Extensive experience delivering large-scale transformation or change programmes.
• Proven programme leadership across complex, multi-workstream environments.
• Strong financial management and budget ownership experience.
• Demonstrable experience managing programme governance, risk, and assurance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement at executive level.
• Experience working with clients, third-party suppliers, and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage contractual and business priorities.
• Excellent planning, reporting, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and adapt to changing business priorities.
