About the role:

We're looking for a Data & AI Governance Manager to join our Data & Data Science team.

As a Data & AI Governance Manager, you'll help ensure Drax's data and AI assets are trusted, compliant and effectively used to deliver business value. You'll lead Data Governance across key strategic programmes, strengthening governance practices, managing Data and AI risk, supporting compliance, and enabling the responsible scaling of AI across Drax.

You'll lead the development and continuous improvement of Data and AI Governance across Drax, ensuring appropriate frameworks, policies, standards and controls are in place. Working across strategic programmes, you'll support compliance, audit and risk management activities, oversee data quality and critical data governance, and help embed effective governance operating models, roles and responsibilities. You'll drive the adoption of metadata, data catalogue and lineage capabilities, support AI governance and model oversight, facilitate governance forums, and provide KPI reporting and insight to senior stakeholders. You'll also play a key role in enabling the safe, compliant and scalable use of Data and AI, while promoting governance awareness, responsible AI practices and a strong data-driven culture across the organisation.

Who we’re looking for:

You'll ideally bring experience in some of the following:

  • Strong experience implementing Data Governance within a complex organisation.
  • Good knowledge of recognised frameworks such as DAMA and/or DCAM.
  • Experience developing governance policies, standards and controls.
  • Knowledge of data quality, metadata management and data lineage.
  • Experience of risk, compliance and audit activities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage with senior leaders.
  • Experience delivering outcomes through projects, programmes or business change initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI, analytics or AI governance would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to influence, build relationships and drive progress across multiple teams.
  • A discretionary bonus depending on company performance
  • Private Healthcare
  • SAYE (Sharesave): discretionary scheme from time to time
  • Personal accident cover
  • Group personal pension plan where we’ll pay up to 10%
  • Holiday 25 days plus bank holidays
  • Reimbursement of the cost of your annual membership of one relevant and appropriate professional bod

Previous AI Governance experience would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in candidates with strong Data Governance experience who are keen to develop their expertise in this area.
